Custom Glass of Carolinas Wins IP Suit

Judge Awards $8 million, plus permanent injunctive order

Custom Glass Products of Carolina Inc., headquartered in Salisbury, NC won a judgment against Infini-Lite LLC of Tucker, Ga., for infringing on its patented Decralite grids. The judgment provides a permanent injunction against Infini-Lite for the use of Decralite patents and the Decralite trademark, as well as $8 million in damages. Custom Glass Products was actually the defendant in the case. 

Decralite Grid Systems use a patented seamless window grid process which uses chemically-stabilized plastics that protect against UV light and chemical outgassing.

The case in question is Infini-Lite LLC v. Custom Glass Products of the Carolinas Inc. et al., Civil Action No. 04-CV-3725-RWS (N.D. Ga.)    

The victory comes on the heels of Custom Glass Products successful patent infringement lawsuit against Collins Custom Millworks, Inc. of Cartersville, Ga. (Custom Glass Products of Carolina, Inc. v. Collins Custom Millworks, Inc. et. al., Civil Action No. 1:03-CV-1680-RWS (N.D. Ga.).
